My energy has hit the proverbial wall

By Tara Zandra | December 30, 2008

I’ve got all the boxes in the house and quite a few of them have been filled and taken back out to the garage. But there are so many left in the living room and I’m just done. I don’t want to do anymore and very well may not. I’m thinking I may need a few more large bins- story of my life I tell ya.

Christmas came again today in the form of a two large boxes from my dad. The kids had quite the fun time ripping open all the presents. Daisy especially loved the paint book and Wiggles guitar and Tabitha is currently settled in with Babyz for her Nintendo DS.

I’ve been researching something new for Daisy curriculum-wise. It’s a program that I deemed unnecessary when Tabi was little but my views have changed over the years. But it seems now that I’d like to look into it a little more, it’s being phased out and hard to find. Figures. I ordered Tabitha’s next math level and also a metamorphic rock kit, a logic book, and a poetry writing pad. But the company is going through year-end inventory so they won’t even get to the orders until next week. Annoying to me because I’d like them as soon as possible but it at least justifies my decision to upgrade to 2nd-day air once they do ship. I’ve also recently ordered a Mythology book along the same lines as Pirateology and Dragonolgy et al. I think she’ll love it. For Daisy I picked up story book recently that helps with counting by 5s and 10s. We’ve been off lessons for the last two weeks so I look forward to starting up again next week. We are planning on doing an art lesson tomorrow though which is always interesting.

Now Daisy really wants to watch the Wall-E DVD my dad sent, so I guess I have to finish those boxes after all so she can see the TV.

We have that Mythology book (actually I think we have all the books in that series), and it’s great!

Sounds like you had a great Holiday. I still have all my Christmas Decor up and dread putting it away tomorrow, but know that I need to.
My daughter Sara loves those books Mythology, etc…she has a total of 4 now. They are fantastic books.
Anyway, just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year….I looked at the photos of Christmas you put up and showed Sara as well. Can’t believe how grown up your girls are getting.
    Take care
    Marion

I’ve got to say I’m still very impressed with your homeschooling. Is there some sort of guidelines you have to follow or anything? My SIL homeschools my nephew & nieces, but it’s a curriculum through a PA cyber school. It seems like it is all set up, she just has to go along with the program.
A big pat on the back to you! *hugs*
