Life is good

By Tara Zandra | September 29, 2008

No real plans this past weekend so it was full of good family time. I finished Tabitha’s new Disney dress to match the one I made Lindsay and I also finished Daisy’s candy corn dress. I still need to make pants to go with that in case October is cooler than September. It would almost have to be as it’s been so hot this last week. I did cut out all pieces of Tabitha’s Halloween skirt but I lost steam yesterday and took a break in sewing. Chris and Tabi played Oregon Trail for a few hours. Daisy and I made shape cookies and read stories and did crafts from one of my old Sesame Street Library books. They are copyrighted 1978 and I’m pretty sure that would be when I got them as I would have been 4. I loved them so much as a kid and read them over and over and did all the crafts and baked all the cookie recipes. It’s so much fun to relive that with Daisy right now. Even Tabitha listened to the stories and joined in on yesterday’s crafts. She’s read them herself, of course, but hasn’t ever done the extra stuff.

Chris and I played some Tiger Woods Golf on the Wii Saturday. It’s been a while since we’ve done that and it was really fun. Last night we got to watch Amazing Race and now that TV is starting back up, I’m thinking The Bourne Identity might gather dust for a while before we send it back to Netflix.

Last night we went out to dinner with my in-laws. We went to one of those places where they cook the food right in front of you (like Benihana’s but this wasn’t a chain restaurant). I thought it might freak Daisy out and it did. Eventually Chris took her outside so she could regroup and when she got back she discovered a lollipop by her plate so she forgave the chef for scaring her with fire, lol. She at least enjoyed the food even if she didn’t want to be that close to the grill. The rest of us had a good time watching, talking, and eating.

And today it’s back to the craziness that is my girls’ classes.
