around town

The girls and I headed out first thing this morning to get some errands taken care of. We went to Lakeshore Learning first and I must say I was disappointed in their lack of selection in paint. I wanted two shades of blue and I was lucky to get that! They only had basic colors with very few extras. Thankfully, they had blue and turquoise so that’ll do. They also didn’t have sponges to paint with or the right size paper. Chris was able to get the paper for me, at least. I really don’t think it was worth the drive. We went to a Hallmark store and oohed and aahed at the ornaments, but they didn’t sell Webk!nz so we purchased nothing. We briefly went to the mall and into Gymboree. I had put in my order this morning and got everything except one thing for Tabi- a beret. The child has visions of painting in a beret and really wanted it. We lucked out as they had one beret on the shelf and it happened to be Tabitha’s size so we snapped it up. We went into that Hallmark and hit strike 2 in our Webk!nz hunt.
Next was the Girl Scout Council shop for Tabitha’s handbook and badge book for Juniors and also some patches I need to iron on the vests of the girls in the troop. Then we went to the theater Tabitha took her class at last week because she had lost her cell phone and it was finally found. I’m glad we hadn’t cancelled it yet and now we don’t have to buy a new phone. Not that we were going to reward Tabitha and buy her a new one, we were going to get Chris a new one and hand his down.
Off we went to one more Hallmark, then Target, Trader Joes and finally home for lunch. I suddenly hit a wall and was dragging so much that I actually laid down on the couch to rest for awhile. I didn’t really sleep, but relaxing with my eyes closed for 15 minutes was enough to get me going again. Which is good, because then it was off to gymnastics for the girls.
After dinner, we all went out to get paint for the girls’ room. Since the big bed has to go on the wall with the mural, you really can’t see any of the mural. So I’m going to work on pretty-fying the other two walls. I’m planning to get them both primed tomorrow, but the actual painting will have to wait until next week. At the hardware store I was also able to get a big sponge for the girls to use in their ocean painting tomorrow and also large paintbrushes. When we got home, Chris and I put the paper up on the cabinet and got it all taped off so my wall and counter aren’t painted blue. We think it’s going to look really neat when the girls are done and might use the space again for future large art projects.

I am wondering if a cell comes in handy for Tabitha or not. I never thought I’d get B a phone until much, much later so am really curious.
