ready to go, er sew

By Tara Zandra | March 18, 2008

Good thing Daisy’s cold is kind of mild, not only because I dragged her around town today, but also because I think I’m starting to come down with it. But regardless, today’s adventures were not in vain and we found sand for the sand table as well as fabric and notions for the girls’ dresses. The quilt store had the exact fabric I was looking to use in Daisy’s dress. Tabitha wandered the store and picked out her own. It’s pretty, though not quite what I had in mind. But she loves it so there you go. I let Daisy help direct my choices for her fabric and it will be slightly busier than I originally anticipated. Unfortunately I kind of changed how I wanted to do the dress after I bought my fabric and I’m not sure I have enough of one of them. I don’t necessarily want to go back and buy more though, so we’ll see what I end up doing.

Chris came home and picked up the kids to take to his parents’ house. Family is in town and they like to see the girls. Pizza will be served and I’m sure they’ll have a fun evening. I opted to stay home for the benefit of being alone as well as the benefit of working on my sewing- alone. All of Tabitha’s dress is cut out and waiting for me. I’m going to eat a lovely baked potato in a minute while wandering mindlessly on the computer, and then it will be back to work. Tomorrow we go nowhere other than the grocery store, so I should be able to get a lot done then too.

Thank you everyone who commented on Tabitha’s recital dress. It means a lot to me since I feel like such a novice sewer who has no business trying to outfit my kids.

I haven’t had a chance to tell you how much I enjoy seeing the outfits you have sewn for your girls. You do an amazing job.
