I don’t like being right

By Tara Zandra | September 20, 2007

Tabitha has Daisy’s cold. I hate when I’m right about things like this. I’d like to think it will be over quick like Daisy’s was, but Tabitha’s colds always take forever to end because they evolve into a cough. She simply has to be better by Saturday morning though as we have plans this weekend. So due to her being sick, we postponed a field trip the three of us were going to take today and it looks like no park tomorrow either. Since I hadn’t scheduled lessons for today we simply did half of yesterday’s lessons yesterday and the other half today. That way she still gets some work in, but she’s not overloaded.

My Amazon order came today. I decided to make Tabitha happy and handed over the Disney Fairies book instead of throwing it into the Christmas Closet. She’s holed up on her stool in the reading center happily devouring it right now. I like the Kumon tracing book I got Daisy and I think she’ll do just fine with it. But as I looked over the Grammar and Punctuation book, I’m not so sure it’s right. It’s for grade level 3-4 but seems kind of beneath Tabitha. We’ve done quick grammar lessons for the last 2 years and I think I’ve actually covered everything that this book covers even though we’ve been using a 2nd grade program. I was looking for something with a little more meat to it (so to speak) because Chris feels the way about English like I do about math. But I’m not so sure this book fits the bill. I’ll think on it for a few days and then decide what to do.

My mail also contained a lovely surprise. I had paid off a credit card back in July and apparently paid a bit too much as I received a refund today. It’s not a lot of money, but if yesterday I had hypothetically spent a little too much on Webkinz products, then this check would cover that amount. Plus the hypothetical Halloween bows from ebay. Because what mommy-made boutique outfit would be complete without Halloween bows? Right? I’m just thinking of the children, really.

And now I leave you with two pics of my baby, because frankly, I think she’s cute.
