hurry, hurry

By Tara Zandra | April 3, 2009

Fridays are nothing but one big rush. As soon as I wake up I have to immediately get myself ready without any leisure time for some Diet Coke and email reading. Then it’s hurry and get the kids up, hurry and get them breakfast, hurry and get them ready. Then we’re off to book club and after that it’s hurry to park because we’re late, then hurry and play/socialize because we have to go home, then hurry home and hurry make and eat lunch. Then “relax” for about an hour then off to gymnastics then hurry home so I can make dinner in a hurry. Next thing you know I have to put the little one to bed then it’s time for the big one. I just got out of a long soak in the tub because it’s the first slow thing I’ve gotten to do today.

For whatever reason it all just kind of got to me today, usually I don’t still feel out of sorts at 11pm but tonight I do. I’m trying to unwind with some White Stripes while I blog. But I’m still trying to hurry in a sense so I can go spend some time with Chris watching TV. Thank goodnes we’ve got nothing on the docket tomorrow. Not entirely true, I guess, as Chris has an appointment early in the morning and then a two truck will come and get our old car that we’re donating to Make-a-Wish. At least they come to us. I think I could use a day alone, but that can’t really happen until sometime in late June so I’ll just need to suck it up for awhile longer.

It’s all good though, a good night’s sleep will be just the thing. I can’t sleep in, but since I don’t like sleeping in, that’s not a problem. I think I’ll be sure to get up right when my alarm goes off and sit here with my Diet Coke and email which will be a fine start to the day. I think it’s supposed to be fairly sunny too which always helps. I think the morning will also definitely call for yoga. I didn’t have time this morning and missed it. BTW, I do yoga with my Wii Fit and on April 1st it played an April Fool’s Day joke on me and told me it was broken and I couldn’t use it. Bizarre but now makes me want to check on other holidays to see what it says.

Tabitha had a Girl Scout meeting last night and it was a combination Court of Awards and Easter party. The girls went outside where Tabitha entertained them with a magic show and I hid eggs for all the girls inside the classroom. Then I turned off the lights and gave them flashlights and they had at it. Very funny to watch from my darkened corner. They seemed to enjoy it for which I’m glad. I brought a snack which was cup cakes in an ice cream cone. It’s something I’ve seen before and finally tried. Sadly, I had a slightly defective recipe and the sides of the cones actually melted down a bit. I had to make do though and just covered with more frosting. I don’t thing the girls minded too much.

The girls are being tested in gymnastics this week and next. Daisy is not so much of a wonderkin that she’s passing out of beginner 2 into intermediate which is a very good thing considering her sister is in intermediate. I think Tabitha would flat out quit if her 4 year old sister were the same level as her. It doesn’t appear Tabitha is going to pass into intermediate 2 this time around but I think she has a very good chance of doing so during the next round of testing. She goes twice a week and has really built her strength up since she started not quite a year ago. The couple items she needs rely on the strength of her arms such as a pull-up. Her legs are stronger than her arms so she just needs a bit more work. But she’s working really hard and constantly improving.

I’ve done no scrapbooking this week which is a shame. Also, I’ve exactly one month to complete a dress for Tabitha that is going to give me fits so I’ll need to find a way to juggle both hobbies. I’m sure I’ll find a way in my copious amount of free time, lol.

Your life seems so full and rounded and happy. I know you are busy a lot and wish for a day alone but I’m envious of how satisfying your life seems. I know this is an odd comment. LOL Consider it’s source. heh
