I’ll be brief

By Tara Zandra | February 13, 2009

Chris is out getting us some Ben and Jerry’s so I have a quick minute to blog.

This morning the girls and I headed out to my cousin’s because Tabitha and Daisy have been begging me to visit my cousin’s baby. She’s almost 5 months now and it’s been 3 months since our last visit so it was definitely time. While my girls oohed and aahed over her little girl, we got to chat a bit before the baby decided it was nap time. We stayed for a little longer before heading home for lunch.

A large package was waiting on our porch and as I knew it was the new easel I, correctly, assumed we’d be getting nothing else done today. As soon as we all finished lunch they had me putting it together. I made a lot of silly mistakes for some reason, I guess my head wasn’t in it, so it took me much longer than it should have. I finished just as Chris got home and then it was time to take Tabitha to gymnastics.

We all went and dropped her off and then Chris, Daisy and I went to Ikea (again) to purchase a floor mat to go in the craft area. What we decided on was a clear plastic mat that is designed to go under rolling computer/desk chairs to protect the floor. What we did was have the kids paint the underside and when it’s dry, we’ll flip it over and place it under the easel to catch any paint mishaps. I really like how it turned out and can’t wait to put it in the craft corner tomorrow. We may get another mat so one can be under the table as well, we’ll see if that’s necessary or not.

While the mat was being painted, Chris and I put a tall bookcase from the playroom in the current spot of a short bookcase because we ran out of kid book room. Well, we only gained one shelf and approx. 4 inches on the other shelves so we’re thinking we’re going to have to buy a bigger one afterall. Not now as I’m getting a wee bit tired of Ikea, but probably soon. All the books are put away at least, and, if not ideally, it’s still better than before.
