Saturday at home

By Tara Zandra | September 6, 2008

I did get a lot of sewing done today. It was difficult for me to be motivated because I have weird crick in my neck that would not go away. It wasn’t affected by sewing so not made worse, but it was really all I could think about. Chris gave it a good massage which felt good while he was doing it, but as soon as he stopped, it was no better than before. It was also completely immune to Tylenol. But at least I got things done. I embellished a pair of capris and a pair of shorts and appliqued a large Mickey onto a t-shirt. After dinner, girls and I went to the fabric store and I picked up ribbon for Daisy’s candy corn dress and Tabitha approved the bat fabric so I purchased that as well. We also spent time oohing and aahing over the Christmas fabric. Daisy wants another gingerbread dress and Tabitha is looking at either penguins or snowmen. I saw new Mickey Christmas fabric so I’ll purchase that and hold onto it for our Christmas Disney World trip next year. I love how both kids are so into me sewing them things. I know my days are limited with Tabs so I definitely treasure the time now. On the other hand, I know I asked my mom to sew one of my homecoming dresses and, of course, my wedding dress so maybe she’ll never completely stop wanting me to sew for her.

Not much else to report for today- Chris took Daisy to open gym since she missed her class on Thursday. Tabitha relaxed a lot as she felt a little worse than yesterday, and I sewed. The Dodger game was on after lunch and we all enjoyed seeing the Dodgers win over the Diamondbacks. Daisy is already in bed since she fell asleep on the way home from the fabric store so as soon as we get Tabs off to bed, I think Chris and I are going to watch “The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward (whoever it was).” It’s almost 3 hours long so we’ll be in for a late evening.

I love seeing what you come up with when you sew for your girls. I can’t wait to see what your newest project is. I have been so lax about sewing lately. I’ve not gone into my craft room for more than dropping something on a desk or looking for something or ironing something. I feel really bad but I don’t feel much like sewing right now. I need someone to find my ambition, I’ve lost it somewhere. LOL
