Tabitha and Daisy

By Tara Zandra | June 15, 2006

Tabitha has rather long hair and it is prone to tangles. She has taken to sleeping in a “plait” as she likes to call it, which has definitely helped. But even the tiniest tangle is cause for “OW!” as loud as can be. Now Miss Daisy finds this quite funny and laughs hysterically at every little, and not so little, Ow! The big kid is less than pleased with this. But it gets better. Daisy also calls a comb and a brush an “ow, ow, ow, ow” and will repeat that over and over while combing her own hair. I, frankly, find it hilarious and laugh everytime; Tabitha disagrees with my opinion.

I have a video from when Tabitha was roughly 14.5 months old and it was Easter. She finished finding her eggs outside and it was time to go in. The child threw a massive tantrum screaming “Side! Side!” while banging on the sliding glass door hoping to buy her more time outside. Fast forward 6 years and a couple months and you have Daisy who pats the kitchen door several times and day calling out “Mama! Side! Mama! Side!” Woe be to me if it’s not a good time and I have to say no. The child sticks out her bottom lip as far as it can go, her face turns red, big, fact tears threaten to tumble forth from her blue eyes and she holds her arms up to me, pleading with me to comfort her and pick her up so that she may wail in my arms at the injustice of it all.

Now when we all go outside in the evening as a family, as we tend to do, the end goes something like this:

Me: Time to go in the house!

Daisy then stops whatever she is doing and runs to the door to go in the house and then into the bathroom for a bath (without being told, mind you.)

Tabitha: Nooooooo! Can’t we stay out for a while longer? I don’t want to go in the house! Please, just a little more time! Please!

Chris: Now Tabitha………..

And that’s all I hear because I escape into the house with the one who isn’t screaming, lol.

They are polar opposites those two, but they have a few similarities.

We took the camera into the backyard with us last night, you can see those results here. For those on dial-up, there are 27 pictures, but I always make the file size smaller to help speed up the loading process.

I loved the pictures of Daisy! She has more hair than Tabitha when she was her age. She’s becoming more like a little girl everyday.
    Anyway, thanks for sharing!

My hair pulls too Tabitha! I scream really loud too. When I get to school my mom has to brush my hair on the sidewalk while we’re going into the school. I scream totally loud and I really don’t like it when it pulls. I almost scream my head off!
