Is “collapsing” on the schedule?

By Tara Zandra | July 22, 2008

I had to leave by 9:30 this morning with everyone completely ready for a long day, including bellies full with a hot breakfast, and extra-primp time for Tabi as she was having headshots done this morning at theater class, and I had to pack her a lunch. I drove half an hour to drop her off then 40 minutes the other direction to go to Kindermusik for the other child. After killing time for 10 minutes in the car we went inside to class and I had to dance and bounce a 30lb child for 45 minutes before running to the grocery store. Daisy and I came home where I suddenly realized Tabitha did not have a clean leotard because I didn’t have time for laundry yesterday. I searched through the laundry to find one and quickly threw it in the washer. I really didn’t have time to give Daisy a full lunch so I just kept putting things in her hands to munch on for the 50 minutes we were at home which also had to include me chopping veggies for tonight’s dinner. Somehow I managed to inhale a bit of food to give me energy. I had to get the leotard in the dryer and then we raced to pick up Tabitha before coming right back home for a whopping 15 minutes. During this time Tabitha had to change, I had to put her hair in pigtails, she ate an apple, I repacked all the snacks in the diaper bag and Daisy packed toys in her basket. I set the rice steamer on delayed cook and off we went to Tabitha’s violin lesson. I decided to use that time to relax and sat there with my eyes closed for most of the time other than constantly handing Daisy what she needed from the bag. Then we went straight to gymnastics. I dropped Tabitha off and Daisy and I went to the party store to look around. We picked Tabitha up, came home, I made salads for everyone and stir-fried the veggies. We ate and then I immediately had to get started on laundry so as to not have to go commando tomorrow. Then Tabitha decided she had to spend time with me despite my apparent lack of energy. I obliged, but can’t say we had the most exciting evening. Now both kids are in bed but I still need to finish up some laundry and spend a bit of time with the hubster before I can sink in unconsciousness.

Wow, busy day. Do you ever rest? It’s a good thing you only have 2 kids. With just the 2 of them you run around like a mad woman all of the time. If you had any more I can’t imagine you’d have time to bathe. Or sleep. :D

Your girls got a good momma.
