first third of the weekend

By Tara Zandra | May 25, 2008

Yesterday was very low key and therefore kind of flew by. We took the girls to Open Gym at their gymnastics’ and they both had a good time. Skills testing is this week and next so Tabitha was working on a few things she needs help with. She still needs more upper body strength and can’t really do a chin hold for any amount of time. She only needs to hold it for 3 seconds to pass the skill so I was thinking we might go to a park today with a bar she can hang on to and Chris can help her out. Daisy worked on skills too, not that we told her to. But she worked on climbing the rock wall up which is something she has previously had trouble with. Chris says she did a good job so it’s nice to see improvement. I don’t think it’s on her skills test but if it is, she’s ready :)

While eating a light lunch, the girls watched a Barbie movie and Chris and I pulled out our forgotten Roller Coaster Tycoon game. We haven’t played since the writers’ strike ended so it was good to get back into it.

Daisy and I went to Michaels so I could use a 50% off coupon a friend gave me for my birthday. It seems odd, but she’s my scrapbook consultant so we talk scrapbooking all the time. I had mentioned that I really needed a new paper trimmer and had found the one I wanted at Michaels, but since it was $40 I wanted to see if I could get a coupon first- only Michaels coupons rarely come in all the weekly ads here. So her giving me the 50% coupon was definitely appreciated. So last night after dinner, I put the new trimmer to use and did the last (for now) March layout. Actually I might do one more quick one to fill a blank spot in the album but essentially I’m done. Now I need to do two sewing projects- a Disney outfit for a friend’s daughter and Daisy’s cow outfit. Then I can go back to scrapbooking, hopefully speed through my meager photos from April and May and then attack the hundreds of photos from our Disney Trip. Plus Tabitha’s birthday, so those two events will probably take awhile. By then, Tabitha will have finished another year of Brownies and I’ll need to take care of all those photos as well. I could scrapbook 8 hours a day for a month and still be nowhere close to “caught up.” Of course, sitting here thinking about scrapbooking makes me what to do it so I think I’ll quickly get that last layout done before Chris and Tabitha wake up for the day.

After I finish it I’ll update my scrapbook webpage with the recent layouts for those interested. I would assume after 9:00am Pacific time. They’re up now.

    Looked at your scrapbooking…wonderful!!!
By the way, I would greatly appreciate your help/input on something scrapbook related…I posted on my blog…so if you get a minute, can you check it out? If you don’t want to post in the comment section, maybe you could email me privately…but I really could use input from a fellow scrapbooker.

    Thanks!

:::Sigh::: *someday* I’ll get back to scrapbooking…
I feel almost guilty because I bought all that stuff when Gabe was a baby & I only ever did 1 album.
O-well, I sure do like looking at yours! : )
