more extravaganza

By Tara Zandra | April 26, 2008

We headed back to the candy store today for more Webkinz activities. The owner is so nice that she let my girls do all the activities, even the one we weren’t going to be there for later in the day. First, both girls did a gem hunt (finding a colored stone amongst foam peanuts) and they each won an orange sherbert push-up. While the girls ate thier treat outside, they did their coloring pages for the coloring contest. Then they entered the jellybean contest again and then they did a coupon drawing. Daisy got a 50% off coupon and Tabitha got a 10% off coupon. We’re saving them for next time since we just bought things yesterday. After all that, the owner gathered all the designs of the coloring sheets so the girls could take them home for keeps. I must say her excellent customer service worked because I’m more inclined to go there next time we’re going to buy Webkinz even though it’s a bit out of my way.

After all that we went to open gym at the girls’ gymnastics school. For Tabitha’s level and up, it’s a good time to get extra help on skills needed to pass to the next level. Since she just started and is at Beginner I, she could definitely use extra help. We’ll try to go as often as we don’t have plans on a Saturday. For the younger kids, it’s mainly a free play time. One of our Park Day friends came as well so I got a tiny bit of chatting in before they had to leave. Daisy had a good time doing her own thing and was mostly oblivious to the other kids.

We then came home for lunch and just general hanging out. Chris and I played some of our Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 game and then he left to do some recycling. I had a lot of fabric to iron so I used that time to call my mom. I’m not so good at returning her emails, so I figured it was the perfect time to really chat with her. We talked for about an hour which was really nice.

Once Chris was home we attempted to work in the front yard on my little landscaping project (I’ll share pics and details when it’s done) but we found that we don’t actually have everything we need. We hate to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s since we can get what we need through Chris’s work for half the cost. So we’ll just wait until Monday and go from there. I have something on order that completes the area that won’t be delivered until Tuesday anyway, so it’s not like it would have been 100% done today regardless.

That’s really it for us today.
