so much for my happy place

By Tara Zandra | December 4, 2007

Saturday was a good day.

Sunday was a great day.

Yesterday was pretty good too.

But I’m not blogging about those days; no-no. The story that brings me to my computer is a simple one. It started out innocent enough- the girls and I went to the mall because Tabitha asked if we could. An easy request to be sure. Even waiting for-ever in line at Carl’s Jr., Borders, and a store with Webkinz wasn’t enough to really put a damper on the day.

No, the damper came from Daisy. Literally. The kid peed on the floor of the Thomas the Train Engine store while playing at the train table. It’s over 80 here today so she was in a dress which means no pants to soak up some of the damage. I was mortified.

But it gets better.

I plopped Daisy into her stroller as fast as I could and profusely apologized to the sales assistant. As we left the store, Daisy was struck by the realization that she was not going to be allowed to continue to play. This prompted a gutteral scream that was so loud, a lady lunching at the cafe next door, jumped in her seat, enough so I actually saw movement, and then she proceeded to exclaim over and over to her companion how the scream scared her, “really it did, it just scared me, it did, it did.”

My cheeks they were aflame.

Oh My God!!! I’m sitting here in shock, trying not to smile. Not that it’s funny. At all. Just so shocking. I can only imagine your horror. And embarrassment. I would have been mortified, had that been my child.

But the woman’s reaction is hysterical. Apparently Daisy scared her. LOL

I hope the day improved for you. Hugs!!
