Disney outfit pics

By Tara Zandra | November 29, 2007

Here’s the latest Disney outfits I was working on. I might add black rick-rack to the hem of these pants to give them a more finished look. Plus, rick-rack is a Disney-boutique staple, lol.

I shared the shirt of this one but here it is with the matching pants. I did an applique for the Mickey head and then used a fabric glue for all the little Mickey’s on her pants. It’s hard to see in the pic, but on the back of the right leg there’s one Mickey as well.

The girls and I went to a new Webkinz dealer today. It happens to be in a candy shop so we treated ourselves to, well, treats. Tabitha chose a chocolate covered graham cracker and I chose English toffee (plus an extra piece for Chris). They had Christmas candy corn but no list of ingredients, but the owner was very nice and called to find out if they had gelatin in them which they didn’t! Daisy adores candy corn but some have gelatin and some don’t so we have to be careful. Daisy asked an odd question though; she asked if they had blood in them ?? Can’t say I have any idea where she got that, she’s too young for us to do any hard-core talk of what meat is- she doesn’t really know, only that we don’t eat it. Anyway, we found the Santa Webkinz outfit we’d been looking for so we picked that up. They also had a ‘Lil Kinz unicorn and Tabitha was practically on the floor begging me to buy it. The thing is, I have it on very good authority that Santa already has it ready to go in her stocking on Christmas Day so I just had to tell her that I didn’t go there to buy Webkinz, only to find the Santa outfit. True enough, but she sure was sulky for awhile after that.

We stopped at the grocery store for a few items and I picked up a 2-liter of full of caffeine Diet Coke. I have serious work to do around here to get the house in ready mode for Christmas decorating. I’m on glass number #2 waiting for the first glass to kick in and then I hope to get to it. Dinner is a cinch tonight (baked potatoes and chili with broccoli) so I don’t have to take much time out to cook.

Tomorrow night Tabitha goes to a Christmas show so I’ll get pics of her in her snowflake outfit then.

I love the second outfit, very neat. It looks rather simple to do too. Great job!
I agree about the rick-rack on the first outfit. It would look more finished. Plus rick-rack always livens things up. Although, that outfit is rather ‘alive’ already. LOL

You’ve really gotten into this sewing thing!! I think it’s awesome. Most people don’t sew clothes anymore. Seems back when we were kids, way more mothers made clothing for their children. My mom sewed constantly. Not that she made anything even remotely as cool as what you make for your girls!!! LOL I can sew but find that my back hurts wickedly after a day of it. Between the shoulder blades. You don’t have this problem? Lucky! My sewing machine died earlier this year. It was 40+ years old though so it’s time had come. I don’t sew enough to make the purchase of a new one worthwhile. Maybe one of these days though. It’s inspiring to see what you are doing.

So cute! You could totally sell those and make a killing. I’d buy them. LOL Same thing happened to us today as your webkinz thing, except it was the extinct animal expansion pack for Zoo Tycoon, which is already wrapped and under the tree. Heh. B is so hooked into that game tho it’s a little scary and honestly today is the first time she has ever had a bit of a crying meltdown in a store over something she wanted. Scary. LOL

I love the new outfits you made. It just isn’t the same having a boy.. He would definatly argue if I put him in custom clothes I think.. But my sister has gotten into making them for my niece..I keep telling her about all the cute outfits you have made.. I think hearing all about them is what got her moving to start making some herself.. Course she made halloween outfits, thanksgiving outfits and christmas outfits for my niece to wear to Kindergarten and now they have pulled her out to Cyber School so she will have to find other places to wear her cute holiday outfits.
