the fog has cleared

By Tara Zandra | November 28, 2007

Man, I didn’t realize how exhausted I was until this morning when I awoke with a clear head. The events of last night, mundane as they were, seem very surreal as if they didn’t happen. I know everything we did, but apparently I was rather out of it. I did get to bed early and though I’m still stuffy, I feel like I can actually do stuff today. I feel alert.

Today is our day with no classes, but Daisy has been begging since she got out of bed to go to a little park for her. I think we’ll venture out later so I’m hoping it warms up a bit. I also plan to take pictures of Tabitha in finished outfits I’ve sewn lately. Of course, since I did not much of anything yesterday, I have to also finish laundry and my dishwasher is begging to be unloaded, reloaded, and unloaded again. And lessons need to be done as well.

Tabitha has already practiced violin this morning as she was given a Christmas song in addition to her regular practice work and she was rather psyched to get working on it. She’s hoping to play it Christmas Eve for our family and friends which I don’t forsee being a problem. It’s only 3 lines of music and rather simple. Anyway, she practiced right after breakfast, still in her PJs, lol.

I started Shopgirl by Steve Martin last night in the bath and finished it this morning. Not a bad read, though I preferred the beginning and end to the middle. I seriously doubt I’ll make any effort to see the movie since it stars Claire Danes and I’m just not a fan of hers. Plus, the book wasn’t fabulous enough to make me want to relive it in a two hour format. But I liked hearing Steve Martin’s voice in my head as the narrator and it seemed very fitting to the words.

I didn’t read it but I did really enjoy the movie. It was an interesting wonderful role for Steve Martin, actually forgot it was him. I like him a lot but he’s almost always the same but not in this movie. She was also really good in the role and I’m not a huge Claire Danes fan either.
