my poor baby

By Tara Zandra | April 26, 2007

So last night Daisy tripped over a toy and cut two of her toes. Minor enough to only have a little bit of blood, but painful enough that I couldn’t even touch her toes without her wailing. Today I looked at her and saw a rug burn/scrape the size of a half dollar on her cheek. Then she flinched when I brushed her hair back from her ear so I looked closely and found a scrape in two different spots on her ear. *Then* this afternoon another rug burn was noticed on her rib cage. All from tripping over a toy last night.

But wait, it get’s worse. We were at my in-laws’ tonight and when it was time to change Daisy into PJs she took off at a fast crawl and wanted me to chase her. She laid flat on her tummy and there’s only one thing you do in that situation- you grab both ankles and drag the giggling child where you want them to be. Only, it’s a thick pile carpet and now my baby has a rug burn on each elbow and a large one on her forehead. And this time it’s my fault :(

Oh, I’m so sorry about what happened. Daisy is in my prayers.

I’d keep her indoors until she heals! ;)
