Water, water everywhere

By Tara Zandra | April 27, 2006

Daisy has had a fascination with the cat food and water bowls since she discovered them a few months ago. She delights in getting a small cup from the play kitchen and scooping the water hoping I don’t catch her. I also know she has sampled cat food in the past. In any case, we’ve worked with her and she pretty much leaves the dishes alone now.

Yesterday, I noticed the cat water dish was leaking so we picked up a new one at Target last night. Since it looks different, apparently the old rules do not apply. I’m sitting in the living room watching TV when I heard the thunk of ceramic on the floor. I paused my show and got up to investigate when a little person came running around the corner as fast as she could and hid in a corner. Needless to say there was water all over the kitchen floor. After I cleaned up the water and refilled the bowl I walked back into the living room and there was Daisy, sitting on the couch, with the remote in her hand, watching an entirely different episode of Frasier than I had paused and looked at me calmly as if to say “What?”
