Tuesday Talk

By Tara Zandra | March 20, 2007

I’m a bit bored and really what better time to post. Usually Tabitha and I do lessons during nap time on Tuesday, but we jumped right in on them when we got home from Kindermusik and finished most everything. We have two short science lessons and one history test left but that’s it. Right now she’s playing computer games.

Daisy has slept better the last two nights and it really shows in her attitude on life. Today was the first time she’s enjoyed Kindermusik in months. She was rambunctious and full of energy which I think I prefer over lethargic-I-don’t-want-to-participate baby. She wore me out, but in a good way, and we both left class with a smile.

I kind of feel like scrapbooking, but my craft table shares a wall with Daisy’s bedroom and I don’t want to wake her. I might work on our Disney trip a bit more. I have two parks’ intineraries done and just need to fully work on one more and glance over info for the other park. Spring Break is coming up and all of sudden Disney boards/lists get posters in a panic because they leave in 2 weeks and just realized they hadn’t planned anything. I don’t think most first timers (or first time going as an adult) realize it does take planning. Disney World isn’t an amusement park that you show up and go on some rides. It’s a bit more involved than that. So people make reservations with their AAA person or sister-in-law of a co-worker or is a travel agent (but not specialized in Disney) and then decide to gather a little information on the internet and get completely overwhelmed with how much they don’t know. I planned our first trip for 3 years and there were still things that went wrong because I was working with an unknown. Now, we have a known and my planning is less detailed and easier to do this time around. Although, as I mentioned, Tabitha’s new love of roller coasters throws an unknown into all my plans. Anyway, those same people who don’t really plan come away from Disney World complaing of the weather, the crowds and how much money they spent and swear they will never return. I know someone who did exactly that after their first trip and they didn’t plan anything before they went.

How did I wander onto the topic of Disney? That wasn’t my intent, lol. I guess it’s always on my mind. Speaking of cheesy, old songs. Last night we’re watching Robin Hood and the little exchange goes like this.

Joe: “At least I shot the sheriff.”

Sheriff: “No, but you did shoot my deputy.”

Cracked me up as I’d been waiting for something to that effect what with the title of the episode being “Who Shot the Sheriff?” Fun show.

There is a lot of discussion I see about the exact same thing you said about Disney and Planning. Most people say the people they know who don’t plan don’t enjoy it. My family went when I was younger and while my mom didn’t plan anywhere near as extensively as I have. She did research enough to make sure the trip was enjoyable and worked well for all of us. My sister is one of those ones that go with no plan and barely see anything and can’t seem to see what the Disney excitment is.
