I have a friend or two who always curse Mondays on Facebook. While I feel for them, at least it amuses me. But I cannot relate as we usually have pretty good starts of the week no matter what we do.
Yesterday was housecleaning in the morning and then a Brownie meeting for Daisy after lunch. Tabitha still leads the meetings and does a wonderful job at it. After the meeting I took two girls home and the third to dance and while I was driving, the sky dropped heavy raindrops on me. I had my windows down and left them that way as the rain felt nice. It never became more than some drops so it wasn’t a cooling rain, but seemed just right for summer.
After I was home and joined the rest of the fam, we headed to my in-laws’ house to welcome them home from a long trip. After a bit we all went out to dinner. The restaurant chosen was The Yard House and their vegetarian menu is simply amazing! They have a whole section of entrees they make with Gardein, a vegetarian meat substitute product. Honestly it was hard to make a decision. But here’s the thing about having these soy substitutes, that’s not really how I eat at restaurants. For instance the meal I got was a Thai noodle salad which was so tasty. But the “chicken” added absolutely nothing in my opinion and it wasn’t the product as it was fine on its own. But the “chicken” was just sliced on top of the salad which is how I ‘ve seen it on non-vegetarian versions as well. It’s just the way chicken is added to salads, I guess. But it’s completely unnecessary and the meal would have been perfectly fine without it. Tabitha had a pizza and again, I don’t know that the Gardein added anything to it. Yet it is a product I use at home and we do eat meat substitutes, so not sure why it felt different at a restaurant.
Once home we had a pleasant evening so all in all, a nice Monday.
Tuesdays, on the other hand, tend to attack me, so we’ll see how today goes.
