Bypassing Hallmark

By Tara Zandra | July 15, 2013

I have a friend who’s birthday is Friday and I thought it would be nice to make a card. I used to make all our Christmas cards with rubber stamps, but they were fairly generic since I had to do 50 of them. And I’ve certainly made birthday cards here and there, but for the most part, I don’t consider myself a card maker.

I had no idea where to start.

I was given a link that had sketches to card designs and since that is something I seek out for scrapbooking, I figured I would find something and I was right. So today I grabbed minutes when I could while Daisy was doing lessons and completed a card and envelope. I really enjoyed doing it and am already thinking ahead to the next birthdays of friends.

Pretty colors! I like that brooch embellishment. Close to my Heart sells card making kits now, have you seen those?
