movie beat

By Tara Zandra | November 14, 2006

Last night Chris and I watched Friends with Money which was definitely enjoyable, but I wasn’t ready for it to end where it did. It kind of gave a snippet of these people’s lives and then it ended. But I didn’t feel cheated, I just wanted more. I guess that’s a good thing as opposed to constantly checking how long until it ended.

Today I watched The Lake House. I know the movie has some haters but it’s right up my alley. I’m a sucker for any movie that shows love based on multiple lives or time travel or after death; anything of the kind. I have a book about two souls who meet before they are born and go their whole Earth lives looking for something but they don’t know what. Of course they find each other simply because they were meant to be together and so forth and so on. Love that stuff.

Aside from watching movies we spent a nice weekend doing this and that. Sunday was a big family get together at my Grandfather’s. Loads of aunts and uncles and cousins and it was all good. I just love it when mini-family reunions happen which isn’t too often due to it being a large family scattered about in different states. It was basically being called a pre-Thanksgiving dinner so my Grandpa went all out with a Turkey dinner. My Mom’s birthday was Monday, so I took her three favorite desserts- cheesecake, pecan pie, and carrot cake- on Sunday for everyone to enjoy. The pecan pie went quickly, followed by the cheesecake. There was a decent amount of carrot cake left so some went home with my mom, some stayed with my grandpa and we brought the rest home. It was my first carrot cake and I’m quite pleased with how it came out. I shall definitely be making it again, especially since both Chris and Tabitha like carrot cake along with myself.

My car took a dive on Saturday, I think. Damn ‘check engine’ light. It figures. Just a sensor and some other semi-minor thing and now I have it back. We skipped Kindermusik this morning though because I just didn’t want to drive Chris to work. So Daisy and I spent extra floor time together this morning reading books and of course, her climbing on me. Tabitha got sent outside to make huts for some Disney figures for part of history. She quite enjoyed that activity as I knew she would. That finishes up our chapter on Nomads and the first farmers and we’ll be moving on to Egypt now.

Right now I’m killing time before Miss Tabitha goes to bed and then I haven’t a clue what Chris and I will do. Maybe play our game, but I’m not really in the mood. We’ll see.

Oh, today’s tip: Salsa Roja chips by Mission = good
Salsa Roja chips before bed and then not brushing teeth before sleeping = something died in my mouth

What is the name of the book about the 2 souls? Sounds like something I would like too.
