tasty goodness

By Tara Zandra | January 12, 2013

It was just Daisy and I this evening as Chris and Tabi were at an LA Kings event. So we baked oatmeal scotchies and they were honestly the best cookies I’ve ever made. I am not a baker. I don’t enjoy it and rarely think the end result is that good. But these? Fan-freaking-tastic. I think it’s because it’s something I wanted to do on the spur of the moment so you can’t taste the hate that is normally present.

After the yumminess of the cookies, we built a Lego house and then made strawberry pops in my Zoku. Yeah, they’re pretty darn good too. I went ahead and used an Amazon gift card my mommy gave me for Christmas and ordered some accessories for it. I also got another cute food cookbook because can’t have too many of those! Not to mention a cheese plate recipe book. Daisy gave me cheese plates and knives for Christmas but I’m sadly lacking in the knowledge of how to pair cheese with things like spreads, nuts, jams, the kind of things we get when we order cheese plates at restaurants. So as long as I have the tools, might as well learn some ways to use them properly.

“taste the hate”. LMAO! Oh that is me if I bake, even from a box mix. And to me it is never as good as if I buy it from a bakery or at a store so all the work hardly seems worth messing up my kitchen. Glad you find something you liked though! Yum! Cheese plates…we eat a lot of that kind of thing but we’re on dairy hiatus at the moment. I can’t wait to have one again though…we love having ours with tapenade, olives, hummus, nuts, yummy spreads we find at the deli counter…must stop thinking about it now to stop my drooling. Have fun and post pics!
