This Christmas season was a little different than previous ones. We didn’t get the decorations up in one fell swoop, our tree buying efforts were continually thwarted, I didn’t really start shopping until a week ahead of time, we barely got to do any Disneyland.
But despite all this, Christmas comes, ready or not. There was still plenty of Christmas songs sung, we drove around and looked at lights, I attended a cookie exchange party, the girls had a holiday party at dance, Chris had his goodie day at work. In the end, Christmas Day was lovely.
We spent Christmas Eve at my in-laws’, as is the norm. We visited with some of our favorite people, exchanged a few gifts both with family and friends, and then came home to tuck childen into bed with the traditional reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Then the real work started. We are procrastinators and as such, we spend the post-midnight hours of Christmas Eve wrapping while watching Scrooged. We outdid ourselves this year and only got 3.5 hours sleep. I don’t recommend that.
I’ve had fun telling my stories this past month to go with the pictures. Around Day 4 I was wondering how I was going to fill 25 days, but then I settled in and it became easy. I look forward to joining in next year.
I leave you with the last picture of my serene living room. Merry Christmas!
