Every year since Chris and I were married, we’ve purchased a family ornament. Actually, I guess we don’t have one for 1997, but we have a bride and groom from 1996, an expecting one from 1998, some sort of family of 3 from 1999-2004, plus another expecting for 2004, and then family of 4 ornaments from 2005 on. We almost always go for the dough type ornaments and get them personalized with our names.
Some years it’s easier to choose than others. There is one that I’m not particularly fond of that I let the eldest child talk me into. She still says it’s her favorite, by the way. This year while shopping I had a hungry 7 year old and we were short on time so I sent the husband and the 13 year old to choose our ornament. That would be where I went wrong.
I can’t even. Moose, people! Moose! To represent our family! Good grief. It doesn’t even have our names, it just says The AncFam 2012. And now it has to go up on my tree every single year.
Here are the other ornaments of the year.
Obviously bought on our cruise. It’s a very thick felt and though it’s a stereotype, I thought it was cute.
This is Tabitha’s. It lights up with red and green coming from their wands, plus sound effects.
Daisy went with Merida from Brave. She really fell in love with the movie.
A friend gave this one to me. Believe it or not, I didn’t have a single Diet Coke ornament, how is that possible?
I leave you with one thought.
