« Won’t you be my friend? | Home | Husband- Do Not Read »

There are so many things I’m thankful for in life. It’s a daunting task to list them all and not something I plan to attempt. I did not participate in the facebook trend to list a thankful thought per day for a few reasons. One reason was I didn’t like the backhanded thankful posts that start out being thankful but deteriate into a bid for sympathy.

I’m going to do a top 3 of thankful, in a way.

Top 3 Really Big Things I’m Thankful For:

  1. My incredible husband. Chris is my partner in life, in parenting, and in general shenanigans. He’s game for just about anything and puts up with my crazy ideas with nary a complaint. We are so very compatible on most things and complement each other on the other stuff. We chose each well and are very lucky.
  2. Daughter number one. Tabitha made me a mom and continues to be my tester child in many senses of the word. I am most thankful that this year, the first officially in the teen years, she has been a glorious child. I could not ask for better.
  3. Daughter number two. Ah, Daisy. She’s a conundrum, that one. It sometimes physically hurts to love her but good grief, do I.

Top 3 Big Things I’m Thankful For:

  1. My family. I have both my parents, a sister, a mother-in-law, father-in-law, and a brother-in-law and his family. There’s always someone there when we need them. We can never repay all that they have all done for us through the years, but we’ll keep trying.
  2. My friends. For the first time in my life I have friends that I can truly count on. It’s taken me a while to realize it and I marvel at it almost everyday. It’s like learning to love again after heartbreak; turns out it’s worth it.
  3. Chris’s job. His company has been good for us in many ways. I know I’m not the one who has to go to the office everyday, but thank goodness for this job.

Top 3 Medium Things I’m Thankful For:

  1. Our dance studio. They are small, but absolutely wonderful and if I’m going to spend so much time away from home, at least it’s at a place I like.
  2. Our homeschool group. Tolerant and diverse are not two adjectives that often go hand-in-hand with certain groups of people, but in this case they both apply. It is a pleasure to share this homeschooling journey with so many amazing people.
  3. Disneyland. I’m grateful for the magic and all that encompasses.

Top 3 Things I’m Thankful For That Make Life Beautiful:

  1. Butterflies, baby snails, snakes, hawks.
  2. Snowy mountains, crashing waves, blistering sunshine.
  3. Music that makes me feel and think

Top 3 Small Things I’m Thankful For:

  1. Facebook
  2. Diet Coke
  3. The internet

Top 3 Silly Things I’m Thankful For:

  1. My workout game
  2. The mall
  3. $1 Diet Cokes

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.

Great list, you are blessed indeed. This line really echoes for me “like learning to love again after heartbreak;”…I hope one day I will say the same…leaving behind my true real friends who had my back was VERY hard and I truly didn’t realize just how precious that was until they weren’t around any more each day. For now I wait…we’ll see if I can true love again. LOL
