Easy weekend

By Tara Zandra | November 18, 2012

Friday I woke to rain so I decided we’d stay home from park. That may have been a mistake as I found out a friend brought a newborn lamb and I know as soon as my kids find out they will be livid. Plus we won’t be going this week or next so we really should have gone. Instead we stayed home and did a miniscule amount of lessons, I did a little work on the computer and then I let Daisy play online for 3 hours and Tabitha watched Dr. Who until it was time for them to go to dance.

I did the usual drop and run and came home to meet my husband. We did a quick stop at BevMo and then went to get the girls. But then we came home and did pretty much nothing for the rest of the evening. Oh, and book club had been cancelled that morning too so we really did close to nothing for the day.

Saturday Chris and I headed out shoe shopping (Got the boots on a HUGE sale!) and then browsed clothing for him. We have the company Christmas party coming up and though my dress is ready to go, Chris needs new duds. I’m hoping to hit black Friday sales for him, but we’ll see. We had a lovely time together at the mall.

After lunch at home, he went to the gym leaving me to laundry and grocery list making. Once he was home we left again for what was surely to be a good 2 hours or so of grocery shopping. Yee-haw. While we were out we found out our Hatter was to be performing that night. Since we really can’t go again until Dec. we quickly made a call to see if we could arrange baby-sitting and then forewent the shopping so we could get ready to go and drop off the kids. I thought their passes were blacked out, but turns out they weren’t and we probably should have taken them because they were both angry with us for leaving them. Daisy met us at the door with quite the scowl and Tabitha negotiated a very late bedtime plus new music on us. We had to bribe Daisy as well which ended up costing us a Brave bow and arrow set (Heaven help the cat) not to mention I didn’t cook dinner so we ate at California Adventure. Add in the rain cancelling 2 sets and you’d think we would have regretted going, but nope! Even with only 2 sets we had a really great time. We rode Tower or Terror and ate cheese on a stick and just enjoyed being together without worrying about the girls. And though there were only 2 sets, Hatter sound absolutely amazing last night. It was worth it just to hear him sound that good. Impromptu date night for the win! :)

Today I got up at my normal time so I could work out and found my ankle being quite uncooperative. I don’t know if I did something last night or what. I felt a twinge when we got home, but not painful enough to really matter. This morning however, I could barely put weight on it. I have it wrapped in an ace bandage which helps some, but it’s been rather painful off and on all day.

So we did our grocery shopping this morning then Chris went to help his parents with something while I took the girls to a ceramic painting place. Daisy was there for a friend’s birthday (not a party, it was just D, the birthday girl, and one other child) and I brought Tabi so she could paint as well since she likes that kind of thing. It was a decent way to spend an afternoon, but by the time we left my ankle was really bothering me and I had a headache. My in-laws are rescuing me from cooking duty and taking us out to dinner so all I need now if for the Excedrin to kick in and then I can go enjoy some chips and salsa.

OMG, Tabitha likes Doctor Who? She’s got to come over and have a marathon with Gillian. The poor girl has been trying to indoctrinate (see what I did there?) all of her friends for the last year with very little success.

She’s recently obsessed. I should drop her off with Gillian and you and I can go to lunch!
