We’re not in SoCal anymore
By Tara Zandra | September 18, 2006
My initial goal was to type everyday even if I didn’t connect to the internet, but this is the first time I’ve actually gotten the chance. I’ve been walking around with a running commentary in my head but the minute I sit down at the computer it’s gone in a flash.
Things we forgot:
- The carryon bag (at least it was remembered before we ever hit the freeway)
- My pillow (however, the ones here are pretty good)
- Umbrellas (thankfully, it has not rained even once, knock on wood)
- Chris’s belt (this one has not been resolved)
- Someone’s underwear (I won’t say whose, but the commando goer needs to be careful since there isn’t a belt to hold up the shorts)
Things I’ve learned:
- Contrary to what I once believed, $10 a night is probably worth the cost of not having a room in the boonies of the hotel.
- When people told me it was next to impossible to understand the size of Disney World, what they should have said was it was impossible to understand the miniscule size of the hotel room
- The flying black bugs with red spots are not two-headed, they are mating.
- Karma will bite me in the ass if I inwardly grin at the boy who yelled at his mother upon check-in to tell her this was a stupid place and she ruined the vacation.
- It’s very difficult to buy men’s underwear here

What, no boxers with strategically placed Mickey heads? *g*
Hope everything else is going well!
