Hogwarts in Lego form

By Tara Zandra | July 16, 2011

Tabitha has been saving her money for quite awhile with her sights set on the Hogwarts’ Lego set. It was well over $100 so a rather big purchase for her. At some point in July, we found out the Lego store was having a promotion if you came that weekend dressed as a character from Harry Potter. Tabitha chose Luna Lovegood as she felt that would be an easy one to recreate. She based her look on this photo:

Basically she altered a pair of 3D glasses, made her own copy of The Quibbler, and dressed as a school girl. She was quite stoked with her purchase and spent the rest of the day working on it.

That evening, Chris and I went out for our anniversary even though that was still 2 weeks away. His parents purchased us tickets to the LA Street Food Fest. Last year we had a fabulous time. This year we wrote complaints. The lack of vegetarian food was appalling. There was a ton of seafood and a lamb butchering demonstration! Seriously, if that doesn’t say eff you vegetarians, I don’t know what does. So off we went, vowing never to return, and went to the movies instead. We saw Bad Teacher which was fine and funny enough. We came home to two children who were quite awake and spent the next half hour being rather rambunctious before I left their room not caring if they slept or not.
