blessed sleep

By Tara Zandra | June 9, 2011

So both Tabitha and I had the same idea yesterday to make sure the cat had plenty of toys overnight. She prefers Polly Pockets with real hair, but in general we try to stick to cat toys. We have a lot but sometimes she plays with them in our room in the middle of the night so I take them from her and forget to give them back. So 5 things were put in the hallway last night and not a peep was heard from her. I don’t know if that was truly what was causing the meowing but I don’t care as long as it stays stopped.

Despite the weather, Tabitha had a great time at the pool party yesterday. It was actually a book club meeting where they do a quiz show on all the stories they read but S always turns it into lunch and pool time which the kids love. A friend who lives near me picked Tabitha up and took her to the party and I was on pick up duty afterwards. That was nice not to have to drive back and forth and gave me tons of time at home with Daisy. We started on her Magic School Bus solar system science kit which thrilled her to no end. We also did math, printing, reading and her workbook.

The afternoon was kind of crappy but after a nice dinner, which I didn’t want to cook, but I’m very glad I did not succumb to the easy out of Taco Bell, things went nicely in the evening. Nothing particularly interesting, but nothing bad and sometimes, that’s the best thing.

Our cat Malcolm wants me to get up at 5 a.m. every day to watch him have breakfast. Not to fill the food bowl–I fill it up to the brim before I go to bed at night–just to come downstairs with him and stand there until he starts to eat.

    Cats are weird.

Any day where nothing bad happens is a good day in my book. That is all I hope for any more.
