ze plane! ze plane!

By Tara Zandra | November 17, 2010

We went with friends to the LA Arboretum yesterday. I lived the first 10 years of my life just down the street from it so I’ve gone there quite a few times. Sad to say, for the most part I did not enjoy being there and only tolerated going in order to see the house that was used on Fantasy Island. But as happens, I’ve grown up and now thoroughly enjoy gardens and have been meaning to take my kids there for a long time. Thankfully, they love anything to do do with nature and consider an arboretum an excellent outing. One delightful feature of the arboretum is the amount of wild peacocks. They are everywhere and it’s amazing to see them walking around. I got a few pictures of them that I’m happy with, despite having to use my phone camera.

In the 12 years I lived in CA I never went there! It was on the list but just never did it I guess. Bren is terrified of peacocks since one at the Denver Zoo chased her and hissed at her when she was about 4 at the Denver Zoo. LOL She still brings that up every darn time we see peacocks.
