it’s all greek to me

By Tara Zandra | September 25, 2010

Thanks to a great friend and great in-laws, we don’t have children this evening. We decided not to eat with the kids and instead went out alone together after dropping off the second child. We found a Greek restaurant and decided to try it. I am so glad we did! Really good food. I had an egg, basil, feta scramble wrapped in a grilled pita, topped with tzatziki. On the side was a salad and what they call Greek Island Fries servied with a cucumber dill sauce. Chris had a falafel wrapped in a pita with the fries and hummus and pita chips on the side. Tiny restaurant, big taste. We must go back and take the kids next time.

Today was a scorcher and of course we were out and about in it. First stop was Michaels where they were having an American Girl craft. Tabitha and Daisy brought their dolls and made a paper cake and party hats. Then we were off to an antiques street faire where a friend of mine had a booth selling off her extra miniature dollhouse accessories. Since my kids have child dollhouses, I knew she wouldn’t have furniture that would work but they still managed to find a few goodies. I think we would have enjoyed it more if it was so oppresively hot.

We then went to eat at a nearby Mexican restaurant. Good food, slooooooow service.

We made a quick stop at Target where I thanked all that was good that I do not have to buy my children backpacks every September. I was looking for a small one for myself and saw some that were $30, $40, even $50! Good grief! They didn’t have what I wanted but the game of Life was on sale and though we have both Haunted Mansion Life and Pirates of the Carribbean Life, we don’t have plain old regular Life; we do now!

Home again and the girls each cleaned and set up their dollhouses and eventually they packed an overnight bag and had dinner. Now the mister and I are going to watch “The Joneses” and then beddie-bye as we have an early day tomorrow.

YUM! Greek food. I absolutely love it. They always seem to have something great that is meatless. Sounds like a nice time!
