Due to the last 3 years of Webk!nz purchases, we have an abundance of stuffed animals in this house. Webk!nz alone account for 217 of our stuffed animals and there are tons of others as well. They were completely taking over the girls’ room. A couple months ago we bought two giant bins and filled them with stuffs and then told the girls they could each have a basketful of their favorites and then in few months we’d bring the bins in from the garage and they could switch them out. Well, the girls got sneaky and not only filled their baskets but their beds as well. Since new stuffed animals were constantly finding their way into the house, once again their room was littered with stuffs. Yesterday we took matters into our own hands.

First we gathered every single stuffed animal we could find in the house (except mine) and put them in the living room. Then we brought the bins in and dumped them in the living room as well. This created lots of fun for the kiddiewinks.

Daisy, jumping into the pile:

Tabitha buried to her neck:

I told you we had a lot! Eventually we had them separate the stuffs by owner. Then we took one child at a time and her bin into their room and allowed only 6 stuffed animals to be put on the bed. Then they were each given one shelf on the big bed and allowed to put as many as they could cram onto it. They are welcome to trade out any on their bed for ones on the shelf at any time. Tabitha was smart and put 6 giant stuffs on her bed so her shelf space would be maximized. In a couple months we’ll have them rotate them out again.

Though there were definitely tears from both girls at the thought of having to choose among their beloved stuffs, in the end, they both love how open their room looks now.

Wow, that’s a lot! Gillian has cooled off on Webknz over the past year (although she did just buy a new one last weekend), so we only have 80-something of those.

Brenna had about as many before our move. I wasn’t going to move that many stuffed animals so we cut down by about half although we kept all the Webkinz. She has a big bin of other non-Webkinz she kept up in her closet and then a random few around her room. Felt so good to purge so many! And despite the tears and drama, she now doesn’t even remember most of the ones she gave up! She currently has 75 Webkinz and I’m pretty guilty of contributing to that addiction. LOL
