what’s ailing you?

By Tara Zandra | March 22, 2010

I’ve got a few things wrong with me at the moment and I feel compelled to complain. I got a heat rash on my legs last Thursday and not only has it not gone away, it hasn’t even abated and still hurts. Usually it feels better in two days, but I guess the weekend activities just made it worse. It’s sensitive to the feeling of my jeans so the whole day it just hurts.

Saturday as we were leaving the snow, I was taking my last step off the snow and my foot sunk through onto a loose rock which caused me to fall. I managed to not hurt myself other than my left hand which landed on a rather sharp rock. It put a deep dent in the meaty part of my palm near my thumb but thankfully didn’t puncture the skin. It’s still sensitive and flares up when I least expect it.

Today I was attempting to tame the wiley mango when my hand slipped and I sliced my left thumb under the nail with the thumbnail on my other hand. No knife, just one nail against another. So the left thumb has been throbbing for a good portion of the day.

And I also woke up this morning when Chris left which means I’ve been awake since 5:45 against my will.

But there was good today too. I did lessons with both girls which I love to doing. Even when I’m in a bad mood, doing lessons with them completely changes my outlook on a bad day. Tabitha and I officially finished our US History book so I really need to step up the ordering of our California history books.

I also had good, good food today. Lunch was papaya lime soup with mango avocado salad. For dinner we had seitan stifado which is best described as a crockpot stew that looked like chile colorado and was so flavorful that I cannot wait to make it again. Sadly, it only made exactly 4 servings so I will need to double the recipe in the future.

Now it is almost time for Chuck. But we’ve got Simpsons on standby incase I need a pick-me-up afterwards.

Ouch ouch and ouch! Your meals sound really cool though! You know, I noticed especially after age 35ish or so, more so in the last year especially (40), any little injury or physical inconvenience that used to be nothing and heal quickly, takes DAYS to go away. So annoying. :-(
