It’s all good

By Tara Zandra | July 13, 2009

I changed the title of my last post because it looked like “content” as in, put your content here and I meant it as content=happiness. I hate coming up with titles anyway, that is probably the hardest part of blogging for me. I guess I’m not witty enough :)

Tabitha is currently fascinated by the Home Run Derby and Chris is reading to Daisy next to her so I decided to put on the headphones and sneak in a few minutes to myself before I have to get Daisy off to bed.

Tabitha started off lessons today with Ancient History because she’s been looking forward to making a cutaway model of a Roman road. She took a shoebox lid and covered the bottom with glue and then a layer of sand. Next she covered 3/4 of it with gravel, then 1/2 the box with concrete (plaster of paris) and finally 1/4 of the box with paving stones. That way each layer shows through which I thought was neat but turns out Tabitha was disappointed because she wanted to use the road in her imaginative play. We have plenty of supplies left so perhaps she’ll decide to make it again with the cutaway part.

While working with the plaster, inspiration apparently struck Tabi and she immediately started work on a story. Definitely one of the benefits of homeschooling is she doesn’t have to bury her ideas until later and can work as soon as she feels the need.

After lunch, the girls played for a few hours and it was just me and laundry. The afternoon seemed to fly by and before I knew it, it was time for dinner. I went with Fettucine Alfredo with spinach in the sauce and topped with veggie sausage and broccoli. Rather tasty if I say so myself.

No more movies for Chris and I tonight so not sure what we’ll do; other than go to bed early since we were up so late last night.
