day off

By Tara Zandra | June 11, 2009

The girls and I didn’t do a whole heck of a lot today. We went to Target in the morning to get me cough medicine and though it does hold back my cough, it makes me feel a little wonky and my voice is back to being raspy. I guess at this point it’s just choosing between the lesser of the two evils.

When we got home, Tabitha and Daisy went right into making brownies together and then holed up in their room playing games until lunch time. Coupled with my lethargy, being basically alone just encouraged me to veg out in front of the computer. After lunch, one thing led to another and before I knew it, it was time to go to gymnastics.

Both kids now have a class on Thursday so that will cut out one round trip a week from the gym. I’m glad for that, but their classes aren’t at the same time so I’m gone for over 3 hours in the afternoon which makes dinner tricky. I’m not complaining though, I’d much rather have them on the same day at least somewhat near the same time. I even got to watch all of Daisy’s class because Girl Scouts was cancelled so I wasn’t rushing off before her class ends and Chris didn’t have to come pick up Daisy at all and was able to go straight home instead.

Ugh, re-reading over the above sentences makes me feel like I should just delete it all. Last week we had a million things to do but I had no time to post any of it. This week we got nothing going on so I have nothing to talk about except not feeling so good. I still need to get to the pictures from last week as there are quite a few good ones. I think we’re staying home all day tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to carve out a bit of time to work on them. But of course, I’ll need to do lessons to make up for slacking off today and I have an American Girl meeting to plan.

The kids are currently enjoying ice cream sundaes and I’m letting them stay up an extra 15 minutes a piece, it’s the little things that make them oh so happy :) I’ve enjoyed more than a couple brownies, so no sundae for me, that’s for sure. Unless it was made out of Vick’s I don’t think I’d enjoy it anyway.
