nothing to see here

By Tara Zandra | May 27, 2009

Last night, or rather, this morning, I had a dream that involved Jack from Lost (not that I watch the show, and it was the character, not the actor), ringwraiths from Lord of the Rings, Paris Hilton and Jane Lynch. I cannot even imagine what in my life would trigger such an unlikely combo.

I read a Mary Higgins Clark book yesterday that was fairly enjoyable. It was about the abduction of 3-year-old twins and normally I wouldn’t touch a book like that, but I’m familiar with Clark’s works and I also knew both twins were alive and unarmed. The interest was more in all the surrounding events leading up to the inevitable capture and the unveiling of the main villain. I didn’t think I’d read it in one sitting, but it really did grab me from the beginning.

I’m currently sitting on my stripped bed enjoying the breeze coming in. I swear, if there was a pillow on here, I’m pretty sure I could nod off for a bit. I decided to air everything out and Fabreeze the mattress, egg crate and mattress pad in addition to flipping and rotating the mattress. Now my motivation is gone and I need to remake the bed. I haven’t slept well in a couple nights and my body aches all over which is leading to feeling down which leads to bad choices in food which of course just continues the cycle of feeling sluggish and down. Maybe I should make an effort to find a pillow and snooze for 20-minutes after all. Maybe I’ll do that, then some WiiFit yoga for the heck of it. I’ll confess I’ve been off my routine for the last 3 weeks. That’s part of my problem and I know it.

Oh well, my birthday is in a few days and I’m being taken out to dinner tonight by my in-laws, so all’s not bad. Friday I get to buy concert tickets and I think I’m going to take myself to the Clinique counter for a new night cream to go along with my impending age advance, lol.

Ok, enough of the bore, I really do think I’ll try and nap for a few minutes to snap out of this funk. The scent of the flowers outside is wafting in on the breeze so it’ll be nice to take advantage of the tranquility.
