Fabulous Easter today :) Tabitha came and woke us up just 10 minutes past 7 and then went to wake her sister. They were off like a flash to get to their baskets. They were thrilled with their joint gift of 50 Crayola pip squeak markers. It’s something they ask for every time we go to Staples. Tabitha’s basket has a ‘Lil K!nz Lamb, Easter Domo Bunny, Frog Rock Pet garden stone to paint, Tinkerbell figure set, egg with Matchbox car, egg with Littlest Pet Shop, bee hand puppet, small pirate Legos, chocolate pigs, and a light up rubber duck. Daisy received Easter Domo Chick, Webk!nz lamb, Turtle Rock Pet garden stone to paint, fairy for her fairy house, chocolate ducks, light up rubber ducky, Tinkerbell figure set, egg with Matchbox car, egg with Littlest Pet Shop, and a butterfly hand puppet. Then they went searching for eggs which revealed chocolate, jelly beans, and coins.

The girls settled in to play and I turned all our dyed eggs into deviled eggs to take to my in-laws’ later in the day. Chris and I then worked on our relish trays as my mom, sister, and sister’s boyfriend were coming over after noon. We put out 4 kinds of olives, crackers, 2 dips, pickles, carrots, cucumbers, croissants, and blueberry muffins. It was all well received, I think.

Then all 7 of us went to my in-laws’. One of Chris’s aunts is in town and his brother came over as well so all told there were 11 of us. The girls got Easter baskets then went on an egg hunt in the front yard. Afterwards we took lots of different configurations for family pictures and I got one of me and Chris that I actually really like.

A wonderful dinner came next with prime rib for the carnivores, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, salad, marinated mushrooms, rolls, tangy green beans (I brought those and sadly they were not up to my usual standard but weren’t bad), broccoli, and I think something else that I’m just blanking on. It was all very good and stories were passed around. Good food, loved ones, and laughter- it does not get any better :)

Dessert was a fabulous trifle that my MIL makes especially for Chris as it’s his favorite dessert. I never had it before marrying into his family and am thrilled to be able to enjoy it now. We even brought the leftovers home for a late night snack!

So, a long day but a wonderful day. Just wonderful.

That’s a nice photo of you two together. We never take photos like that. Mainly because we both hate to. LOL We should though I guess. Sounds like you all had a fabulous day!
