Archive for September, 2012
Still thinking about where to look for my Navigators so I can finish the cruise report. But didn’t want September to be devoid of the other stuff going on.
This past week was pretty good with lessons and dance. I think this year’s schedule actually works better with lessons and is less chaotic. You wouldn’t think […]
Day after Juneau was to be spent in Ketchikan. We had an interesting excursion booked, but with the day before in non-stop rain and Daisy being sick, we felt in our best interest to cancel the excursion. Disney felt otherwise as they have a no refund policy. I don’t blame them but Chris did talk […]
The first part of our excursion involved a tour bus trip to Glacier Gardens in Tongass National Rainforest. When I hear rainforest, obviously I think of the Amazon. But apparently there is such a thing as a temperate rainforest and this is the largest one in the world. Who knew? (I’m guessing some of you). […]
I don’t have access to the right computer but felt like blogging so here I am.
Right now I’m fighting the desire to nap. Not sure what’s up but I’m having trouble getting up in the morning. It made sense when we got back from vacation in that I was recovering from not enough sleep and […]
Hell must have finally frozen over, people. Last night I danced. Willingly. In front of others and my husband. Just so you know, that’s the first time he’s seen me dance and we’ve been together 18 years.
But let me back up to where I left off. Picture with Daisy Duck, then the anticipated dinner.
comments should be fixed now
Whence I left you, I was full. Daisy was in her kids’ club and Tabitha, Chris, and I were kicking it together. We decided to go to “Who Wants to be a Mousekateer?” It was a game show set up similar to Millionaire. There were only 5 questions though and of […]
Now, while we had been having brunch, the ship entered Tracy Arm on the way to Sawyer Glacier. So my surreal moment of today was eating caviar in a private dining room on my way to see a glacier. How is this real life? The scenery on the way to the glacier was traditional […]
So stuffed! Between yesterday’s update and right now, I’ve eaten enough to last me the rest of the cruise. So much for all that hard work, every pound I’ve lost has probably not only come back, but I’m guessing brought friends. And it’s only Day 3!
Let’s see, I was alone and drinking Diet Coke. Oh, […]
My aunt and uncle live near Seattle and very graciously offered to pick us up at the airport and take us around town before heading to the port. I had kind of hoped to take the girls up in the Space Needle, but there was a festival that weekend that made that a bad idea. […]
Handwritten on the plane ride to Seattle on Sept. 3.
So far so good on the traveling; kids woke up easily and weren’t grumpy. We got out of the house on time and had a real easy check-in at the airport. WE waited a smidge then were on the plane and off! Seats are very comfortable […]
Home from an Alaskan Cruise. I did pretty good with trip reports on the netbook. Just need to edit photos and the upload.
Got through our first week of dance. Since we were operating with only one car we still don’t know what our normal routine will be, but we’ve got 10 months to get it right
Thursday we went to violin and Daisy had an absolute meltdown and refused to play. Really weird. I tried bribery […]
