Yesterday did not go as planned. Sometime after lunch the girls were playing which somehow consisted of Daisy running at full tilt down the hall way. At one point she ran into her room and on the way out, smacked her head into the door frame. She screamed so much that she started to choke […]
Yoga is supposed to be an act of meditation. But when you have two little people making comments such as “That’s easy! We do it in gymnastics!” “Hey Mom, when you stand that way it looks like you only have one leg!” the moment isn’t very peaceful.
Methinks I’ll start a little earlier tomorrow morning.
The girls and I had a play date this morning with a Park Day friend. I really love this family and love any time we get to spend together just talking. We don’t always get to have good talks at Park since we’re watching our kids and there’s so many people and conversations going on. […]
Can I use that phrase in February? I need a life pause button right now, but who doesn’t? I know my problems aren’t unique, but I don’t have to solve everyone else’s problems, just my own- and my family’s too, I guess. Nevermind me, I’m just in a funk, I know it will pass as […]
That exclamation is probably the strongest memory I have associated with my grandfather who was buried today. Throughout my childhood he would utter it in reply to something that either didn’t make sense, or did make sense but he wanted to tease with a bit of disbelief. How I delighted in grandly telling him horses […]
So Friday night’s stint of only 4.5 hours sleep caught up with me this morning. I think I slept 7 or 8 hours last night but that did not matter and I’ve felt one step away from zombie all day. Chris felt pretty much the same and he’s also fighting a bit of a virus […]
Today was a Girl Scout event in which Tabitha participated in a fashion show dressed in a traditional Chinese outfit. We attempted to simply find one local to purchase but we were unsuccessful. We could have gone to Chinatown but with all the rain we’ve been having and our hectic schedules we opted for me […]
Today sucked. There is not enough sugar in the world to coat it so there you have it. My one bright spot was the following poem that Tabitha wrote because the inspiration struck her.
We all have riches,
though it can be hard to tell.
If you pay attention
they will do you well!
We all have golden slumbers,
and tortoise’s […]
Tabitha’s French program arrived on Monday (apparently UPS does not take off President’s Day). I call it her program but I decided to use it as well. Turns out her French-Canadian heritage works in her favor as her pronunciation is far superior to mine. I can’t even pass one oral exercise and I’m only on […]
So two weeks ago the belt on my vaccuum cleaner broke. I ordered a replacement that same day and also ordered new filters since it was time. You see, when we bought our vaccuum a couple years ago, the parts were readily available at Target. But the very first time we needed to replace the […]
Chris is out getting us some Ben and Jerry’s so I have a quick minute to blog.
This morning the girls and I headed out to my cousin’s because Tabitha and Daisy have been begging me to visit my cousin’s baby. She’s almost 5 months now and it’s been 3 months since our last visit so […]
Daisy had testing in gymnastics last week and this, and she passed. Crazy kid. So she’s at beginner level 2 now and she shouldn’t even technically be in level 1 yet! Tabitha has pretty much determined she is not going to pass to intermediate level 2, though we won’t no for sure until her class […]
First, I put up pics of Day 1 of Tabitha’s birthday weekend. They are on the same page as the party ones, so just scroll past the ones you’ve seen. Pictures.
Today the girls dressed up and the three of us went to a tea house for a formal tea with friends from our homeschool park […]
I am tired. The girls and I took advantage of our one day of clear skies and headed straight to Disneyland this morning. We had a great time for the 4 hours we were there. We had to leave to get to violin on time, but didn’t make it and we were 15 minutes late, […]
I got the pictures from Tabitha’s party up. So as to not feel overwhelmed I’m going to try to get just one set up a day until I finish with Daisy’s party (which hasn’t happened yet anyway). Tomorrow I’ll work on Tabitha’s actual birthday.
We had a fabulous weekend, though the kids might say otherwise […]
Daisy’s birthday was a success! While she slept on her last night of being 3, Chris and I put up streamers in the dining room and a couple dozen balloons around the house including in her room. She was very happy to see the balloons in the morning. She started right in on opening her […]
Have you ever seen a more beautiful 4 year old?
Well that was a fun-filled 10th birthday for Tabitha.
Chris went to work Friday as usual but the festivities still started that morning. Tabitha was greeted by a nice set-up on the table and one wrapped present. We had told her no presents until the evening so Chris could be there as well but this […]
