Here’s the cow dress I’ve been working on. Eventually I will add jeans sewn out of the same denim as the top of the dress. But that’s not a pressing need with it being summer right now.
Daisy has had Chris and I to herself this evening as Tabi is off to her second ever sleepover. […]
Miss Tabitha watched “Camp Rock” last night. For those of you without tween kids, that’s the new made-for-tv, original Disney Channel Movie. This one has the Jonas Brothers. Let me tell you, if I thought Joe Jonas was hysterical in his Mick Jagger prancing at the concert, he was downright ridiculous in this movie. […]
This morning was just a bad day. The kids could not move faster than slugs, Daisy was practicing being a sassy 13-year old (”What-evah. Sorry already.), and my internet connection refused to work for more than 10 minutes at a time.
But after lunch everything improved. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, just thank […]
Today my burn was less pronounced and I was able to wear makeup- with a liberal application of green powder first. So right there it was a better day than yesterday.
While reading Mel’s blog, she mentioned the history pockets by Evan-Moor again. But she also mentioned a Tall Tales pocket book that I thought […]
Yesterday was my sister’s graduation from college. As far as graduation ceremonies go, it really wasn’t boring or too long. We could not see her in the processional but we did see hear her named announced and saw her on the stage getting her hand shaken for the photo. I’m very proud of her […]
This morning we melted at a local park while Tabitha had her fly-up ceremony from Brownies. She is officially a Junior Girl Scout now Sadly, Lindsay’s vest still didn’t come today despite all my fingers and toes crossed. So instead I gave her new bows custom bows to match the green of […]
Despite the stifling heat, we had a lovely time at Park Day. Just under ten families came out today so the conversation was quiet and intimate. A couple moms help me in my always present concerns about Daisy’s lack of interest in social situations. They both have older girls who, though not exactly like Daisy, […]
I sewed an easy dress for Tabitha for her upcoming bridging ceremony in Girl Scouts. All I did was sew a skirt onto a halter tank we picked out, but it really came out pretty. So flowy and summery. I also sewed Lindsay (American Girl doll) a matching skirt, of course. Lindsay has her own […]
Chris made plans to go to Vegas with his dad and brother and I wasn’t comfortable staying alone. Originally I had thought we’d simply stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but when I found out there as an Egyptian Museum in San Jose, I decided that would be the perfect field trip for us girls.
We left […]
The kids and I just got back from a long weekend in San Jose. I’ll have to leave the details until tomorrow when I get a chance, I just didn’t want to go this long without posting
Our little monkey started her new level of gymnastics today. This level really seems to focus more on being correct technically. Various things were definitely being fine-tuned as opposed to just getting something accomplished. Daisy had a good time, but as always, she didn’t like when other kids don’t listen. She has always been a […]
I was up with Daisy for just shy of two hours last night. She was wide awake and had a fever, headache, and neck ache. I gave her Tylenol which got rid of her pains, but not the fever. And she was talkative. Very talkative. As in, she talked more in those two hours than […]
Both kids slept until 9am- bizarre. Considering I had two wake up calls from Daisy in the 4 o’ clock hour, it was nice to sleep in though.
Tabitha got invited to a birthday party that is Alice in Wonderland themed and costumes are encouraged- now I’m sewing an “inspired by” Queen of Hearts dress. I […]
Daisy had a play date today and it went very well. She didn’t ask to leave, didn’t call the child rude, and was happy to follow her around. The little girl is 10 months older than Daisy and I think that makes a difference as she has the maturity level to lead in play dates. […]
Yesterday was our second meeting of the American Girl book club. This time we read the Felicity books- she is a colonial girl in Virginia just before the American Revolution. First we had our discussion and in some ways I feel I dropped the ball. I really didn’t enjoy the book that was the focus […]
Miss Daisy also passed her skills test today and was moved up a level in gymnastics. Another little girl in her class will join us in the older class so at least Daisy won’t be the only 3 year old amongst a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds. We’re going to keep the same […]
Daisy had her second play date today. It was with the same friend as last time but at our house this time. I feel it went better than last time in general, but still not what I’d hope for. Thankfully the other little girl is very easy going and Daisy’s changing mood did not seem […]
Tabitha passed all her skills for gymnastics today! I was so hoping she’d pass them on the first try since she is a little old to just be starting gymnastics. She’s still a beginner, but it’s the second level of beginner. She won’t be tested during the summer sessions so that gives her time to […]
I’m going to have to take a cute kid picture tomorrow so I can replace the Mother’s Day one on the side there.
I put out a plea to my homeschool group for someone to join me at a park today since I was down and in need of friendship. I had 7 people respond […]
My week did not really improve last week but Saturday was my 34th birthday and today was nice so all should be well. But I’ve got a case of not being able to sleep due to overthinking problems.
My birthday was pretty good this year. It started with sleeping until 8:30am so that’s already a […]
