Turns out we need a copy of Daisy’s birth certificate to prove she’s under 2 since we did not purchase her a ticket. About that. Everything we’ve ever read says to get your baby a seat and take their carseat on board as they are familiar with it. So when we went to Maine 6 […]
Today wasn’t the best of days. Nothing went terribly wrong, other than being awoken at 5:07am by a certain Wee Miss who did not go back to sleep. But I just felt blah all day. We did all our regular stuff but during Daisy’s nap I kind of just collapsed on the couch with the […]
After lessons today during Daisy’s nap I spent some time looking online at reviews and descriptions of various curriculums; specifically, science and writing. I love deciding which program I feel will work best for Tabitha, not only in learning the material, but also her enjoyment of the process. I did make decisions so now I […]
Tabitha practiced violin yesterday and this morning and I must say I hear a difference. It’s amazing how much better she sounds with such a clear practice session written out for her as opposed to a vague “practice these six songs.” She used to sound like someone who kind of had an idea of […]
Have I ever mentioned how damn cute my kids are?
They are currently playing games together, though Daisy style of course. First game she thought was hysterical whenever her playing piece came out of the base; in fact, that seemed to be her whole goal. Now Tabi is trying to get her to play some […]
Daisy watched Chris leave for work today so right now she’s going through the door of her Laugh and Learn House telling me she’s going to work and she’ll see me soon.
Next, she passed gas which prompted her to channel Laugh-In and open the door simply to say “Ha! Diaper funny” and close the door […]
Another weekend is over for the Anc Fam. This morning started off with a trip to our local donut shop for a slight indulgence and then it was on to the hardware store for screws. Once home, Chris put up two shelves for me in Tabitha’s room for some dolls and stuffed animals. We only […]
Tabitha is now on violin teacher #3. I hope this one sticks, for a variety of reasons. I had a nice chat with her before Tabitha’s lesson to let her know how rocky Tabitha’s very short musical career has been. I really appreciated how she listened and she brought up some things I didn’t even […]
Here’s a great article about Steve Franks, creator of Psych. I’ve known Steve years and years, but we’re not call-eachother-and-hang-out buddies so I definitely learned some stuff about him I didn’t know.
Today Daisy gets to be an only child as my mom has taken Tabitha for the whole day. Wee Miss and I aren’t going anywhere, she’ll just have me 100% to herself, not sure that’s what she wants, lol. I have a feeling I’m going to get ignored a good portion of the day.
We did creative writing a little differently starting last week. I gave Tabitha the idea to create her own animal. She wrote a few sentences every day and today ended with a drawing to represent what she had written. Below is what she wrote. As always, all spelling is hers, not typos on my part. […]
So, after almost 3 years, 2 postponements and a cancellation, we are finally going to Disney World. We leave in percisely 25 days and will be there for 10 days/9 nights. The entire trip is paid off, including food, and we’re just responsible for our souvenirs and a couple extras I have planned for the […]
I mentioned that last week Chris was working earlier and off work at 3 instead of 5. I had commented to him that if there was a way we could make that stick, I’d have my old life back. He used to be off early everyday and it was really hard to suddenly not have […]
A couple people asked for a picture of my haircut. My before pic was taken Mother’s Day this year and the after was taken today.
Nothing special going on today with the Anc Fam. Tabitha had hula bright and early this morning so Daisy and I dropped her off while Chris stayed home and did yard work. The plan was for Daisy and I to do our grocery shopping while Tabi was in class, but she fell asleep on the […]
So I had about 8-inches cut off my hair yesterday. It was too long for me to wear down so I put it in a ponytail everyday. Unfortunately I have heavy hair so I would get a headache every single day as well. The only thing that gets rid of my headaches is Excedrin which […]
Today we had a new garage door installed, yay! Our old one was a flip up kind with peeling paint. The new one is roll up with windows; sunrise to be exact. I am so pleased with how it looks, just gorgeous. Coupled with the windows that were put in a few months ago and […]
I’m getting over a cold that is mild in symptoms, but leaving me lethargic. I have zero motivation to do anything but lie on the couch and breathe.
When I’m sent to the store to buy Velveeta, it may take me awhile. I had to look in four different aisles before I found it.
In case you […]
Tabitha’s weeklong class has come to an end. All week she’s been in a class entitled “Bug Bonanza” at the Natural History Museum. She looks forwards to this week every year. I was surprised she chose bugs as her interest in them has waned in the last few years, but she certainly enjoyed it. That […]
When we show up for Tabitha’s class this week, Daisy is one-fourth of the way through her nap. So I bring a book and go find some shade and quiet and just read for awhile. Those areas that are nice and quiet when I happen upon them, suddenly become the hub of all activity the […]
I am a die-hard Wiggles fan, I’ve paid good money to see them three times and I have no problem dancing to their music within my home. But even I’m tired of them after the last three days. Tabitha is attending a day camp all this week and the drive home is the start of […]
I’ve added two more items to my front porch since the original pics were taken in May. All images below can be clicked to view larger.
Door knocker, also given to me by my mother and sister.
Mickey Mailbox I ordered off disneyshopping.com during a serious sale.
Mailbox and light together:
We’ve also replaced the doormat, but though it’s […]
The girls and I headed to a park this morning since Daisy slept in so late and wouldn’t nap until after lunch. It has recently been redone with all new equipment on both playgrounds. It’s a company I’ve never heard of called “Kompan” and definitely seems to have European roots. The lower playground was smaller […]
Okay, so it’s not. But I’m so in the mood. I’m ready for summer to end and to get on with the fall festivities which then lead to Christmas. I already have one gift stashed away; technically it’s four things, but it’s a main gift and accessories so I’ll count it as one. This year […]
Pictures from the month of July have now been posted. Link in the sidebar or right here. For my friends on dial-up, there are 29 pictures total, each one 33KB or less.
